Rugby approach to Agile

1.  1986: “New New Product Development Game” published by Hirotaka Takeuchi and Ikujiro Nonaka described the “Rugby approach” to commercial product development.
2.  1990s: Ken Schwaber used a similar method in his company, Advanced Development Methods, Jeff Sutherland used a similar method in his company, Easel Corporation. DeGrace and Stahl refer to this method as Scrum in “Wicked problems, righteous solution
3. 1995: “The Knowledge Creating Company” published by Hirotaka Takeuchi and Ikujiro Nonaka elaborates on the method published in their earlier paper
4. 2001: Ken Schwaber and Mike Beedle publish the book “Agile Software Development with Scrum”.
